ICE WELCOME TIGERS FOR GAME THREE, LIVE ON SHAW – Cody Eakin and the Kootenay Ice take on Linden Vey and the Medicine Hat Tigers for Game 3 of the 2011 Husky WHL Eastern Conference Championship series in WHL playoff action on Tuesday.

Tuesday night’s playoff contest between the Tigers and Ice can be seen live throughout western Canada on SHAW and SHAW Direct channel 299 (7:00pm MST).

The Ice skated to a 3-0 shutout victory over the Tigers in Game 2 of the series on Saturday in Medicine Hat, and now hold a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.  Saturday’s victory was Kootenay’s franchise-record ninth consecutive post-season win.  The Ice have not allowed a power play goal on home ice in the post-season.

The Tigers find themselves in an 0-2 hole after dropping the first two games of the series on home ice, and need a victory on Tuesday in Cranbrook to get themselves back into the series.  The Tigers are 5-1 through their first six road games during the 2011 WHL playoffs.  Vey continues to lead all WHL players in post-season scoring with 12 goals and 24 points in 13 games.

Kootenay will host Medicine Hat for Game 4 of the best-of-seven series on Wednesday in Cranbrook, B.C..
