Team Canada U-18 Downs Czech Republic

Team Canada, with Kelowna Rockets defenceman Damon Severson on the roster, bounced back after a dissappointing loss on the weekend and earned a win over the Czech Republic Monday at the World U-18 hockey championships.

Brendan Gaunce scored a pair of goals and added an assist to lead the offence as Canada topped the host Czech Republic 6-2 at the 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship on Monday.

Team Canada will play its final game of the preliminary round on Tuesday against the USA.

The win over the Czechs came after a 4-2 loss to Finland on the weekend and a tournament opening win over Denmark.

Canada is 2-1 so far at the event.

TSN will be brodcasting the game as well as the medal round this week.
