Rockets accept Scotty Munro Trophy as WHL regular season champs

Kelowna Rockets captain Madison Bowey accepted the WHL’s Scotty Munro Trophy on Saturday night as the 2013-14 Western Hockey League regular season championship.

The Rockets clinched first overall this week after what has been a record setting season.

The Rockets will finish the season with the most wins in franchise history, the most points in franchise history and the most road wins in franchise history (also tying a WHL record).

The Rockets entered the final game of the season on Saturday with a 56-11-0-4 record.

Kelowna will open the WHL playoffs against Tri-City, playing the first two games of the playoffs at Prospera Place on March 22 (7:05 p.m.) and March 23 (5:05 p.m.)
